Antioxidant Powerhouse

Your body needs an ample supply of antioxidants to counteract the harmful effects of free radicals. Free radicals are unstable atoms in the body.

Although the açai berry contains potent free-radical-fighting properties, these properties are not easily captured. The fresh açai berry can begin to lose its potency as early as 24 hours after being picked. However, to retain its antioxidant and nutrient benefits, MonaVie uses a patent-pending process to freeze-dry its açai quickly after it is harvested.

Studies show that freeze-dried acai powder has an ORAC score (a measure of antioxidant power) 10 times higher than that of cranberries and an anthocyanin (red-blue polyphenols) level that is 20 to 30 times that of red wine. When properly freeze-dried, açai boasts an ORAC score of 1,027 — higher than any other fruit or vegetable tested to date.
