Bart Gillespie Wins Utah Cyclocross Series Race
[Ogden, Utah] – MonaVie-Cannondale bicyclist Bart
Gillespie won the Men’s A division in the third race of the 2008 Utah
Cyclocross Series in Ogden, Utah.
Gillespie is gunning for his sixth consecutive Utah Cyclocross Series championship dating back to 2003. The annual UCS consists of 10 or more races in which competitors accumulate points based on where they finish in each race.
In cyclocross racing, bicyclists must complete several laps on short courses that feature different types of terrain as well as obstacles that require riders to quickly dismount and carry their bikes. The photo shows Gillespie effortlessly bunny hopping one of these natural barriers.
[Deseret News]—The MonaVie-Cannondale
four-man relay team of Bart Gillespie, Bryan Alders, Ben Sonntag, and
Alex Grant took first place in the Suzuki 24 Hours of Moab race in
Moab, Utah. The squad completed the most laps overall (21 laps),
covering the equivalent of just over 313 miles. Finishing third overall
with 19 laps completed was another MonaVie-Cannondale crew—Matt Ohran,
Shannon Boffeli,Hienrick Dieters, and Isaac Wilson.
Tinker Juarez placed second in the Suzuki 24 Hours of Moab solo division race, in a grueling competition covering 15 miles of rugged terrain. The 14th annual Suzuki 24 Hours of Moab race drew teams from all over the world, including 5,000 racers, support crews, and spectators.

[Mr. Food]—Mr. Food, a syndicated daily television news segment, ran a 90-second feature on the açai berry, calling it an “in” ingredient with an exotic flavor from the Amazon.
